MARCH'S ASTROLOGICAL TRENDS
by Ingrid Jeffries

rd. This Full Moon will accompany an eclipse at 4:22 PM MST that can be seen in Europe, Africa, western Asia and the eastern Americas. The truth and future orientated planets, Jupiter and Uranus, are strongly positioned at this Moon, indicating a restless energy that is discontent with the status quo. Both planets support coincidence, so one would certainly want to pay attention to apparent flukes and 'twists of fate'. Eclipses are believed to leave an energetic imprint that is felt more intensely and for longer periods than a regular Sun/Moon connection.

The grand trine configuration that occurs in the spontaneous and prideful fire signs between Venus, Saturn and Pluto provides opportunities for self-expression and impetuous action that is power driven.

CREATING YOUR OWN MAGICAL PARADIGM
or, "Box?  What box?"
 by Fran Carey

The Concise Oxford Dictionary defines "paradigm" as example or pattern, in other words, the preprinted line in the copy book that the student is expected to replicate. Modern usage expands that to a way of seeing, being and doing things, a culturally defined set of behaviors or thought processes. As students, we blindly copy along with the instructor(s), which is proper and necessary during our learning phase. After all, as the old adage goes, "Perfect practice makes perfect."

But what about after the initial student phase? Yes, one hopes one continues to learn throughout this life and those that follow, but what about when the best way to learn becomes to teach? Does one continue to teach the rote lessons one learned, or are there new things to be incorporated, as one's various paths of study coalesce into new visions and new ways of thinking about things? Perhaps that's one of the aspects of the much-discussed spiritual paradigm shift of our age. East meets West, North meets South, a giant Traveller's Plaza on the Information Superhighway, as well as on the higher planes. And you have to design your own vehicle in which to travel. You may even design your own road, your own Magical Paradigm.

THE SABBAT OF OSTARA
by Karen Charboneua-Harrison, from The Witch's Well Sabbats Archive

Ostara (also known as Eostre, a Teutonic Earth Goddess) is the beginning of the agricultural year. It is time for the Earth to "spring" into action and for us to initiate and celebrate new beginnings. One of the most universal symbols of this sabbat is the planting of seeds and the sprouting of new life from the womb of the Earth Mother. The Vernal or Spring Equinox marks the beginning of the 'light' half of the year, when day gradually becomes longer than night. From now until Autumn, the power of the Goddess dominates our festivities bringing light, warmth and fertility to the earth. The courtship of the God and Goddess commences with this sabbat and this is an appropriate time to focus on the balance of male and female energies within ourselves.

HERBS FOR SPRING AND SUMMER
by Karen Charboneau-Harrison

It's that time of year when we're all outside having fun - but occasionally with that great time we're having also come bug bites, sunburns &&38; the minor injuries of our outdoor enthusiasms. Here are some helpful, natural remedies for the summertime blues:

BASIC SHIELDING FOR MEETINGS
by AC Fisher Aldag,
(Reprinted by permission from Llewellyn Publications)

You're attending an intense, focused business meeting where everyone is shouting their ideas. You feel disconnected, chaotic, confused. A committee is formed, and two people volunteer to chair the position. When it comes to a vote, the person who doesn't "win" feels angry and rejected. You pick up on this emotion, which manifests itself as dismay, panic, and a physical symptom of nausea. After the meeting you have a terrible headache which even your favorite Reiki practitioner has trouble dissipating.

Maybe you should quit attending meetings forever and retire to the Bahamas. Well, that's not quite a practical solution. You need your job, and it is mandatory to go to the business meetings. The service club you belong to provides vital benefits to the community, and besides, you made a commitment to attend its planning meetings. So rather than quit in despair, it’s time to learn how to shield.
