APRIL'S ASTROLOGICAL TRENDS by Ingrid Jeffries
April opens on Palm Sunday as the Sun shines through the constellation of Aries, the first sign of the zodiacal circle. Aries, like spring, is action oriented with the focus on moving up and out, willing to go where no one has gone before. Those with birthdays in these early weeks of April will find that 2007 can be a particularly successful year for them.
by Lisa Hunt (Reprinted by permission from Llewellyn Publications) Renowned psychoanalyst and author James Hillman said in his book Dream Animals, "The imagination is itself a great animal." What is it about animals that captivates us and sparks our imaginations? Just this morning my young children were watching an episode of Nickelodeon's "Blue's Clues" and the subject of the show was "animals." Not only was this synchronistic for me as I pondered writing this article, but my children sat there spellbound as animals paraded around the host and his companion blue dog showing off their marvelous attributes. These animals were the teachers and their anthropomorphic displays were entertaining my children into a state of engrossed rapture. READ THIS ARTICLE IN ITS ENTIRETY... For millennia people have sought to connect with and share the abilities and
senses of our animal brothers and sisters through shamanic journeying and
creating links with familiars and animal totems. This is a 'give and take'
relationship wherein one makes the connection to an animal in order to
partake of the animal's strengths and powers while pledging to protect and

EARTH is the element of secrecy, deep wisdom, possessions, creation,
perseverance, birth and death. It is considered passive and receptive. The
direction and quarter of the Circle which corresponds with Earth is the
North, the place of endings. Earth corresponds to the bone structure of the
human body. The season is Winter and the foundation of magick which
corresponds to Earth is Secrecy. Hidden beneath the Earth are many treasures
- jewels, minerals, oil - which must be sought out with forethought and
labor. So it is with the magickal secrets that the element Earth hides; only
through dedication and patience can these secrets be brought to light, yet
they must always be protected and guarded
The first day of May: flowers in bloom, budding trees, luxuriant green fields, the blue rush of streams. These are all images of the growing, fertile, life-filled Beltane season. Beltane begins the rule of the life-giving Goddess; personified by Mother Nature, Gaia, the powerful forces of regeneration and renewal. Her powers of growth, fertility and plenty bless us throughout the summer as we tend our gardens, eating just picked sun-warmed tomatoes as we work. Her energies are abundantly present until Her consort begins His rule at Samhain (Hallows Eve) when we become more introspective again, quieting down into Winter.
