April opens on Palm Sunday as the Sun shines through the constellation of Aries, the first sign of the zodiacal circle. Aries, like spring, is action oriented with the focus on moving up and out, willing to go where no one has gone before. Those with birthdays in these early weeks of April will find that 2007 can be a particularly successful year for them.
The Libra Full Moon occurs on April 2nd with Venus the planet of love in sensual Taurus. As the only planet in the earth element, the need for pragmatism is strong at this time.
On 3/5 Jupiter the planet of visionary expansion turns retrograde until August, moving back through Sagittarius providing a chance to reconnect with an impulse to explore a new opportunity or resurrect a former one.
On 4/6 Mars the planetary pioneer and ruler of Aries enters Pisces further emphasizing the visionary impulse.
Mercury, planet of messages, joins the Sun in Aries on 4/10 lending directness to communications and a quick response to impressions. Mercury is whizzing through the zodiac now taking less than 3 weeks to move through a sign.
Venus enters Gemini on 4/11 further enhancing the desire to share information, encouraging a "meeting of the minds". The lack of earth planets in the planetary line up indicates that a little common sense and practical consideration can go a long way in aiding accomplishment to the abundant but scattered creative forces.
The Aries New Moon occurs at 5:36 am on April 17th at a degree of the zodiac associated with the power of visualization. The New Moon's easy alignment with Pluto supports judicious change.
The Lyrid meteor showers which peak about 4/22 can be seen now, if one can get away from the city's lights. Saturn the planet associated with the "business" of living turns direct on 4/19 allowing key objectives to resume forward momentum.
At 5:07 am on April 20th the Sun moves into the earthiest earth sign Taurus, grounding the volatile fire/air energies that we have experienced for the last 10 days. The Taurus Sun lends an amiable and steadying influence to the high-octane planetary mix. On 4/27 Mercury also enters Taurus.
